We were honored to accept the torch passed to us in a long legacy of independent pharmacies in Madison Park. The Jacobs building – where we are located – has housed a pharmacy since before the 1930s.
The Madison Park Pharmacy and Wellness Center hopes to be your neighborhood pharmacy and locally accessible health and wellness advocate. Our team is comprised of experienced pharmacists, naturopathic doctors, medical herbalists, and clean beauty experts. These are familiar faces who have been serving the Madison Park community for many years. They’re standing by to help you talk through medical and wellness decisions. Our team gives you the space and freedom to ask questions, compare brands and seek answers. Our pharmacy, supplements, gifts, and beauty departments are built around you.
Keeping What Works
We’ve kept what worked for the Madison Park community and have improved as many areas as possible. We offer all of the most popular products that Pharmaca offered, and we maintain robust supplement and beauty departments. We also provide the same pharmacy services, including vaccinations, prescriptions, intramuscular B-12 administration, and a team of practitioners to consult with patients.
True to our mission to elevate the pharmacy experience, we have improved technology and operations. We now offer our patients an app with the ability to receive text reminders, auto-refill services for those who want it, and more. We offer compounded prescriptions through a partnership with our sister pharmacy, Bob Johnson’s Pharmacy.
Our front-end team takes pride in curating unique gift and home décor goods from local Seattle vendors, including a candle vendor living right here in Madison Park! With independent ownership comes greater freedom and flexibility, which empowers us to keep what customers loved, while allowing us to also feature new merchants in whom we believe.

The Team
Matt Binder
Pharmacist, Co-Owner
Matt Binder, a local pharmacist, is owner of two nearby independent pharmacies, Ostrom’s Drug and Bob Johnson’s Pharmacy.
Matt, a lifetime resident of various neighborhoods in the Seattle area, is a UW pharmacy school graduate. His passion for independent and hyper-local pharmacy services perfectly fits the Madison Park community.
“We learned that this is a neighborhood that takes care of itself, and we believe that every self-sufficient community needs a pharmacy,” Matt said. “As we were able to bring back most of the old team, we could tell we’ve got something special.”
Jeff Harrell
Pharmacist, Co-Owner
Jeff Harrell is the CEO of Cascadia Pharmacy Group (CPG), a group of independent pharmacies that serves the Cascadia region of the Pacific Northwest with 30+ locations in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. As co-owner of this group of pharmacies, he knows how to run a successful business while keeping the autonomy and local personality of each pharmacy front and center.
The focus of CPG pharmacies is to elevate integrity and patient-centered care in their communities. Independence is key, and the pharmacies in the group are run autonomously by local pharmacist business owners who know what each of their communities want from their local neighborhood pharmacy.
Haven
Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacist
Haven is a lifelong Washington resident; he grew up on Bainbridge Island and attended UW for both his undergraduate and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees.
The small, tight-knit community he grew up in shaped the way that Haven approaches his role in pharmacy and carries over well to Madison Park. “Forming meaningful personal relationships with my patients has always been incredibly important to me. I’ve always valued being an easily accessible, trusted healthcare resource for them.”
AJ
Pharmacist
AJ started his pharmacy career when he was 17-years-old working as a cashier at his small town independent pharmacy in Oregon. After earning his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Roseman University of Health Sciences in South Jordan, Utah, he moved to Washington State where he began his career as a pharmacist offering exceptional healthcare. “What sets independent pharmacy apart from big box stores is our passion for taking care of our community and taking the time to get to know our patients. I love working somewhere that retains the character of an old-time corner drugstore.”
Laura
Front End Manager
In Laura’s 12 years with Pharmaca she found a passion for mentoring staff, growing their strengths, making beautiful displays, and anticipating customer trends. She also has a lot of passion for customer engagement and a commitment to going above and beyond when the opportunity arises.
Adrienne
Beauty Expert + Assistant Manager
Adrienne has lived in Seattle for the last 10 years and is especially drawn to the vibrant neighborhood here at Madison Park. Adrienne has 15 years of beauty experience working as a freelance makeup artist and brand ambassador for various high-end cosmetic and skincare lines. She was a clean beauty expert with Pharmaca for 4+ years and she loves helping people enhance their beauty from the inside out.
Courtenay
Naturopathic Doctor
Courtenay obtained her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University after a long career environmental, health, and safety. Doctor Courtenay has been helping people improve their health in Madison Park and surrounding communities for over 11 years. She is a detective by nature and loves being able to make specific recommendations to address underlying issues. She’s also passionate about educating people so they can better advocate for their health.
Marianne
Herbalist
Marianne is a practicing Clinical Herbalist who relocated to Seattle from Boston in 2019. She received her training through the Boston School of Herbal Studies and the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. She is passionate about immunity and the human microbiome which she refers to as ‘the universe within us’. She enjoys leading local plant walks, her favorites being Discovery Park, Greenlake and Seward Park.
Kate
Medical Herbalist
Kate hails from across the pond in the UK. She graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Western Herbal Medicine. She studied under Master Herbalists at Leeds Beckett University and has since held her practice in both Ireland and Washington. Plant Medicine and Nature-Based Healthcare is her thing and she especially loves assisting customers with stress management and sleep support.
